Rita Pierson has been a teacher for 40 years and has had a ot of experience teaching children. Her Ted Talk begins with a conversation with one of her old colleagues that said "they don't pay me to like the kids" and in passion Rita said, "kids don't learn from people they don't like". In this talk she looks at the relationship between teachers and students and how every child needs someone to aspire to, someone to look up to and someone to be their champion.

Personally I love this Ted Talk, I love how she is so passionate about the children she teaches and how she is so aware of what they really need. So many people just see teachers who are only in it fro the good holidays, but Rita is passionate about teaching and being a champion, she is someone who goes above and beyond her call of duty.
